Late Night Wholesome Gaming

I've just scored 63:61 in an overtime win. I was playing as Indiana Fever in NBA 2K24 on Switch in WNBA. My Pro Controller disconnected during halftime sadly, but I managed to win anyway. I'm seriously considering buying 2K23 for my Switch. I also played some Journey on PS4 today. The game is... impressive to say the least. I think I'll be coming back. For now I'm listening to some music on my headphones and doing some online shopping I guess.

UPDATE: I snatched a digital copy of Death or Treat for less than 5 euros (it was something around 40 euros for a physical copy). Other than that I bought a replacement case for my Journey, which had it destroyed in the lower right corner, and used Horizon: Zero Dawn (English version of course, as those are my favorite). Cost-wise it was pennies, so nothing to mention really. For my Switch I bought NBA 2K23 and Burnout Paradise Remastered and here it was not that cheap: 73.43 euros.

I'm a 35-year-old casual gamer from Poland, who rediscovers gaming after a 10-year break. The last game I completed was Max Payne 3 on PC back in 2015. Recently (late 2024) I purchased a new PlayStation 4 console. Nostalgia strikes back: American Splendor by Harvey Pekar

My copy of The New American Splendor Anthology by Harvey Pekar just came in the mail. 300 pages of Harvey's trademark gloom and doom from off the streets of Cleveland. It's an amazing book and I can't wait to read it all. Pekar's stories are illustrated by various artists, but it's all quality art. I learned about Harvey Pekar and Robert Crumb from the 2003 movie starring Paul Giamatti and Hope Davis. Their performances are stellar and the story is engaging. I really dig that movie man. In the late 00s I used to download movies with eDonkey2000 (it could literally take days for the download to complete with low-bandwidth Internet connection of ours) and burn them on CDs to play on the TV screen. Luckily our DVD player supported CD-R and DivX, so it opened up possibilities for me. I could immerse in American movies and shows, which were far superior to Polish ones. Nostalgia and giving back

My first ever gaming experience was with Superfrog and Prince of Persia on Amiga 600 in the early nineties. I recall that it was my cousin's Christmas present, and we had pirated copies of those games on floppies. Superfrog was so much fun back then. We spent hours progressing through levels, collecting coins, and shooting down bees. Amazing classic. Lately I had an opportunity to give back to the family member, who made my first gaming experience happen. The person who bought the Amiga then received a special gift from me in return. After approximately 30 years since they made my first gaming experience possible I put together a special gift for them. After noticing their interest in my Switch and some of the games I decided to buy them their own system and games.
