Armageddon with Bruce Willis (Blu-ray)

Today the weather is definitely not nice. It's gloomy, rainy, and foggy, so I decided to curl up with one of my Blu-rays and I've chosen Armageddon. It isn't rich in terms of extras/featurettes: just a bunch of trailers and a music video for Aerosmith - I Don't Want to Miss a Thing. The back cover synopsis is very long and I don't feel like translating it from German right now. The movie is nice. It has 6.7 rating on IMDb. In the end Bruce Willis saved us all. My rating: 7/10. Burnout Paradise Remastered is for Switch what Need For Speed Heat is for PS4. Enough said. Great win in 2K23 on PS4. NOLA vs San Antonio Spurs. 59:28. Ingram recorded 25 points (made 5 threes out of 8 attempts) and 3 rebounds in 16 minutes. Zion's respectable 10 points and 5 rebound. Valenciunas with a double-double 10 points and 14 rebounds. Kira Lewis Jr. Did not play - Coach's decision. 

I've just ordered some exciting additions to my Blu-ray collection: Sting's concert: Live at Olympia Paris, Underworld: Awakening, Young Adult, and The Lifeguard. The first two will arrive on Tuesday and the others later, in mid-December.

Nostalgia strikes back: American Splendor by Harvey Pekar

My copy of The New American Splendor Anthology by Harvey Pekar just came in the mail. 300 pages of Harvey's trademark gloom and doom from off the streets of Cleveland. It's an amazing book and I can't wait to read it all. Pekar's stories are illustrated by various artists, but it's all quality art. I learned about Harvey Pekar and Robert Crumb from the 2003 movie starring Paul Giamatti and Hope Davis. Their performances are stellar and the story is engaging. I really dig that movie man. In the late 00s I used to download movies with eDonkey2000 (it could literally take days for the download to complete with low-bandwidth Internet connection of ours) and burn them on CDs to play on the TV screen. Luckily our DVD player supported CD-R and DivX, so it opened up possibilities for me. I could immerse in American movies and shows, which were far superior to Polish ones. Nostalgia and giving back

My first ever gaming experience was with Superfrog and Prince of Persia on Amiga 600 in the early nineties. I recall that it was my cousin's Christmas present, and we had pirated copies of those games on floppies. Superfrog was so much fun back then. We spent hours progressing through levels, collecting coins, and shooting down bees. Amazing classic. Lately I had an opportunity to give back to the family member, who made my first gaming experience happen. The person who bought the Amiga then received a special gift from me in return. After approximately 30 years since they made my first gaming experience possible I put together a special gift for them. After noticing their interest in my Switch and some of the games I decided to buy them their own system and games.
